Why “coping with your mental health” is not the ultimate solution.
This is the truth that they don’t tell you: I’ve been through all of it and it doesn’t work. So, here is what DOES work.
I remember the days when I would search the internet up and down and would do all the suggested coping tools for depression and anxiety. For four years, I spent my time learning about my chronic condition, the instability that was waiting to jump out, and the brain that was causing it all.
Therapists after therapists, articles after articles, and helplines after helplines, all said one thing, “you have to learn to cope with your symptoms and manage them as best as you can.”
But as time went by, it never got easier. It got worse. It became more and more unbearable. I had spent four years crying in the bathtub while holding ice in order to calm my nerves, yet I still would have panic attacks and still would react to seemingly small things, and I couldn’t bear the thought of doing it for the rest of my life.
That was my reality only two years ago.
Today, I’m here to tell you that all the “mental health help” talk is bs. Because none of the “coping tools” actually work. None of the “solutions” are real solutions and only are there to pass the days. And of course, as human beings, we can’t just pass the days like that.
Two years ago I decided that I wasn’t gonna live like that anymore. I couldn’t. And I couldn’t leave my loved ones either, so I had to find a better way. A real solution.
I decided to go against all the “experts” telling me that it was what it was. I decided to not believe them and say, “There has to be a better way.”
And if you’re reading this, if this is your last hope, if you’re tired and don’t know how to go on, I’m here to tell you I found the better way :)
It’s been two years and I haven’t had a single panic attack, a single symptom of my “chronic” depression, anxiety, OCD, and all the other labels the “experts” put on me.
The answer is simpler than we think:
As human beings, we grow up and learn by failing and trying. At a young age, most of what we do is intuitive. But as we grow and take in the world around us, we are taught to not listen to our intuition and instead use logic.
But where was the logic when we wanted to learn to walk? Or where was logic when we cried in order to survive? Logic and consciousness develop as we learn to make sense of the world and take in what we feel with our senses. And as we experience the world, we experience grief, fears, and hurt.
But logic doesn’t know how to handle grief. It doesn’t know how to manage our fears. And it doesn’t know what to do with hurt. And our intuition is nowhere to be heard because we shut it down. So, we as beings have no idea what to do.
So, what happens? These difficult emotions and experiences pile up and weigh on us. They become heavier and heavier and our brains keep getting crushed under the weight.
If we were taught by our parental figures how we could feel and move through our emotions, how we could live in the present moment, and how we could feel safe and at ease, then our brains wouldn’t have gotten stuck in a fight or flight mode and would be in a peaceful learning state.
But most of us didn’t have that upbringing. And even if we did, we still get crushed by our brains’ fears, such as fear of failure, fear of being unloved, fear of loneliness, fear of grief…
But what if our brain is working over its qualifications? What if we put the whole weight of life on our mind and it wasn’t supposed to handle it? What if our brain was simply here to learn and make life work for us?
That would be so peaceful and calming right?
The mind, not running a million miles an hour, letting go of all the heaviness from life, and being able to see with a new light.
That’s when I realized the key is differentiating our brain from something that’s inside of us and it’s meant to handle life much better and more… intuitively!
Now, I like to call it our Soul, but you can name it however you want. Even call it intuition. But the important thing is this: your intuition is a separate entity from your brain and your physical self. It’s even different from your consciousness. Because your intuition/Soul has the wisdom that is incomprehensible to us as human beings. Simply put, our Soul is a direct link between us and the source of creation.
And this is not religious in any way. Here’s why:
We all have had those moments when we hear a little voice inside of us. A voice that is different from the constant chatter of our brains. A voice that makes us feel a bit scared because it’s new and unknown but also familiar. Because we used to listen to it when we were younger. It’s the same voice that tells you to go after that dream you keep putting off. The same voice that tells you what you did wasn’t right. And the same voice that gives you the feeling when something is meant for you, or not.
Now imagine, if you could live life actively listening to that wisdom and moving through life with the ease of mind that you’re being directed by the highest source and guidance in the multiverse. That you would know the answer to whatever you needed in your life. That you would know how to handle any situation. And you would know what you want exactly and get it at the exact right moment.
Your life would feel like magic, right?
And the fact that it’s been inside of you all along and you just need to reconnect to it… the fact that you’re just a little too far from it… are you excited to try?
I would be humbled to walk alongside you as you find your wisdom again🤍
